Product Licensing

AVEO seeks value creating product alliances. With an aggressive in-licensing strategy, AVEO continues to pursue opportunities where the application of AVEO’s technology and expertise can be applied to provide unique insight and a competitive edge in development.

Current Partnerships

In April 2007, AVEO entered into an exclusive worldwide license and development agreement with Schering-Plough for AV-299, AVEO's novel anti-HGF antibody.  AVEO will have primary responsibility for clinical development of AV-299 through proof-of-concept in man and will apply its HRPTM platform during a multi-year translational research program designed to discover biomarker profiles of patients most likely to benefit from treatment with AV-299.  AVEO retains the option to co-promote AV-299 in the United States for certain oncology indications.

In January 2007, AVEO licensed from Kirin Brewery Co. Ltd. an exclusive license to develop and commercialize Kirin’s highly potent and selective, once-a-day, oral VEGF receptor inhibitor, KRN951 (renamed AV-951), in all territories outside of Asia.  AVEO plans to file an IND and initiate Phase II clinical trials for AV-951 in the second quarter of 2007.

In January 2006, AVEO licensed from Mitsubishi Pharmaceuticals MP-412 (renamed AV-412), a second generation, oral, IND-ready, dual-kinase inhibitor in all territories except Asia.  AV-412 Phase I clinical trials were initiated in October 2006.  For more information on the trial, visit www.clinicaltrials.gov and search AV-412.
